Hi there,

I work in power plant and we have DCS system. My question is that I have flow transmitter two wire system mean loop powered, and output is 4-20 ma that goes to I/O card in the DCS. That transmitter is defective. I found new transmitter, but it's four wire signal: two for power and two for signal output.

The I/O channel accepts just two wire system, so is there any adapter or any way I can convert the output of the new transmitter to two wire system so we can connect to the DCS?

Which DCS you are using? If it is Yokogawa it can manipulated at Terminal board which connects to Analog in put card.

Friend, you can use the signal isolator after the 4 wire transmitter, visit http://www.miinet.com, you will find what you want. And consider the load capacity of your I/O card as well.

You need to find a signal isolator that has a passive input and a passive output. Try people like RTK in the UK (http://www.rtkinstruments.com/) or Weidmuller.

You can use analog signal repeater or send me the IO Module data sheet i can advise you the wire connection to accept source signal.
