HI FRIENDS;

Hope all are fine.

We have a gas turbine where the control software developed in RSLOGIX 5000 version 10.0. if we change it in rs logix version 16.0 then what will be the effects on function block, ladder, scan and execution time? and what steps we take to edit the mismatch configuration if any?

thanks

The RSLogix software disks should include version 10, 11, 12..... Just install that version and go for it otherwise you will have to update the firmware of the processor to version 16.

RSLogix 5000 version 10.0 to version 16 should be no big deal. Some of the earlier versions had trouble moving forward, but from 10 you should be fine. Your FBDs and ladder should be unaffected. Scan / execution time will not change. The only thing you MIGHT have to consider is if you're doing something with the WALLCLOCKTIME system variable, but even that is usually no big deal.

By the way, they're now on version 17, so you might consider going straight to that.

Hi,

as James mentioned there really should be any software issues. But I would look at the hardware, check firmware of your modules as sometimes one series will not fully support 10 and 16, for example 1756-DNB modules were series A, then series B which wasn't fully compatible with earlier processors, and now C which doesn't quite do it with 15 and earlier.

Be sure to check that firmware compatibility chart on the Rockwell website. Depending on the modules you have in the rack or might be communication with, for certain versions, sometimes the firmware must be "lock step" with the processor version.
