True, but this software displays all three formats at the same time, and is certainly quicker. It is especially useful when working with word manipulation of bits within PLC code. Have you tried "turning on" bit 14 and bit 5 in calculator to see what the hex value equals? Or conversely if the PLC is displaying h0A30 do you really want to waste time counting which bits are on when displayed as 0000101000110000 in calculator.
 
There is one more excellant program CALC 98 you can down load from Zdnet etc. It offers a standard calculator with lots of convertions types and is user configurable also. I have uninstalled other conversion programs after i used this, one program for every convertion and calculation
