I am looking for a module to sit in a PLC panel, that will respond to commands from a walkie-talkie in the area. The user would be able to dial in a number, say from 0-64, when they send that number, the matching binary relay outputs would close to make a simple two character, or more, BCD number. I would wire the outputs to PLC inputs, so I could then make logic decisions. Does anyone know of a product like this?

 

A little googling pointed me to the following:
http://www.icircuits.com/store/prod_dtmf_main.html. It is a DTMF decoder with relay outputs. You must use walkies that can generate such DTMF "tones". The rest of the logic is up to you with your PLC.

 

Yes, I found a similar solution via google....it would be nice to find a receiver and relay board in a packaged unit. Thank you for the suggestion.
