Hi All,

I am having two AC Drives of Schneider Altivar ATV 58F--one is 7.5KW and other is 15KW--both were running one of the textile machines, which are now out of order, and I just can't find out ATV 58F anymore as the model is very old now. All I can find is Altivar ATV 71 model can work in place of ATV 58F. But I am hesitant to buy ATV 71 if it cannot communicate with the PLC that was working with ATV 58F. The machine is from Europe. Can anybody help me out and say whether ATV 71 can work in place of ATV58F with the PLC that is programmed according to the ATV 58F's function code?

Please, please help me in this regard ASAP, I would very appreciate that!

I think you can replace old ATV58 for ATV71, but it depends on what way you communicate with PLC. By ERthernet you will have to make some change to the PLC program.

You can change from a 58 to a 71, depending on how your communicating, you could have a lot of trouble doing this. I have them on device net and been having trouble on the swap, Even the company has not have great success getting this done.
