Valve Trim change for two operating cases.

We have two operation cases

a) Early life- where pressure parameters, flow & CV is very high.

b) Late life - where pressure parameters, flow & CV is very low.

We are expected to design a valve for case a). But we have to ensure that the selected body size shall be suitable for case b) as well. Whenever case b) come into effect, only trim can be changed for case b) low CV valve.

My question is when we are changing the trim, we are expected to repair the valve seat as well, which is part of valve body. Which is, to my knowledge ,an expensive option than procuring new valve. Such modified trim valves may or may not perform for expected CV. Rigorous tests are expected to perform in vendor's shop.

Based on your past experience, feedback, knowledge please advise which is recommended solution in such case.
