Vibration detection

Hi List,
I'm involved in a project of a centrifuge. Last time I was asked about vibration detection for safety reasons - they said it wouldn't be funny
to see machine's falling apart (I'm not so sure ;-). I heard about this kind of detectors / transmitters but I don't know of any
manufacturers who make such equipment. Anyone knows ?

A good place to start is Bently Nevada, www.bently.com. They have products to do very sophisticated monitoring, analysis, and protection for rotating equipment. How much protection you need depends on the value of the equipment and the risk to people or other equipment of failures. This can be expensive and difficult instrumentation to use well.

On the other end of the scale, a simple switch like one of these from Robert Shaw can be used to determine whether the thing is about to "fall apart".

Good luck,
