we have replaced our not-Bentley Nevada vibration probe (Velocity-Seismic), which originally came in with the Gas Generator, to Bentley Nevada piezoelectric vibration probe. But we keep reaching alarm setpoint or even trip setpoint when running the Gas Generator (GG) Unit.

we have mounted another probe (verification probe, same model)at a very closeby location with independent monitoring device to verify the reading.

We have run into all the following situations when testing:

1) under very low load (around 2 MW), readings from two probes were the same, but when load raised to 5 MW, our measuring probe's reading was much higher than verification probe.

2) for short time run, readings from two probes were the same, but when running long time (8 to 10 hours),the measuring probe reading always drifted upwards, while verification probe did not have much change. The measuring probe eventually reached alarm setpoint.

We have changed probes (suspect defective) and mounting methods as per manufacturer's requirement. We ran out of our resolution for the problem.

What the problem could be? If change to another new probe, what type and make you would recommend to use on Rolls Royce GG machine?
