Dear All, Can anybody help me for converting Kinematic Viscosity to Absolute Viscosity. Thanks in Advance. Ravi Goradia

Absolute Viscosity = Kinematic Viscosity * Density Make sure you have the units right and your done.

Absolute (Dynamic) Viscosity [centipoise] = Kinematic Viscosity [centistokes] * Density [g/cc] Note: centipoise = 0.01 g/cm-sec centistoke = 0.01 cm*cm/sec Regards, Ian Milne

Most process viscometers measure the dynamic (absolute)viscosity only. Usually the problem is to find the kinematic viscosity because many standards are based on kinematic rather than dynamic viscosity. This is particularly true of the hydrocarbon industry. Process instruments usually also use a density meter to automatically convert between dynamic and kinematic. Some instruments measure both as per these sites: http://www.solartron.com http://www.biode.com/BiodePages/Viscosity.html http://www.et.anl.gov/sinde/Labs/UTlab/UTVisco.html > Can anybody help me for converting Kinematic Viscosity to Absolute Viscosity.<
