Question:

Have a honda 7000W generator using the 30amp 240 plug to a device. So each leg is 120V which I am showing each leg using 2.5 amps. So the total amp load on the generator is 5 amps, correct. Or am I wrong.

Someone I know does not believe me, 240 is two 120 volt legs.

Generator load is normally expressed in VA not amps.

You have a total load of 2.5X240 = 600 VA.
