hi
i need a water level sensor for an underground tank that will be able to switch off a pump at that level. what type of sensor should i use? any ideas?

Without getting too fancy, for you application, use a dependable rugged single point switch. If you want to control a level - order it with a high and low. Request any fitting size.

The switch can stand on it’s own or request a slosh or shield as in the deep well probe.

Solid-state controls are available, from the company, that power up the switch and have a 240V 8A relay or you can use a simple cube relay.

Simple, dependable and cost effective solution.

I have 3 potential solutions (depending on what sensor mounting access you have):

1. Pulsar Advanced 120 (http://pulsar-us.com/docs/LowLit-Advanced.pdf) ultrasonic level and pump controller with the dB transducer (http://pulsar-us.com/docs/LowLit-dB-Transducers.pdf).

2. Pulsarpoint 400 ultrasonic gap switch (http://pulsar-us.com/docs/LowLit-PP400-Gap-Switch.pdf) for point level. This would require 2 for a ON and OFF setpoint.

3. Pulsarpoint 800 Float (http://pulsar-us.com/docs/LowLit-PP800-Floats.pdf) using mercury or mechanical. This is the low cost solution if it can be mounted correctly.

Please feel free to visit our website http://www.pulsar-us.com for further information.

Good luck,
Robert

dafna,
why do not try using CRYDOM FFS Series wide angle float level switch for pumping differential.

cheap & easy to use/handle.

we are selling these to be used with submersible pumps.
