Hi,
Did anyone heard of term "soft PLC". I would like to know, how is different comparing with "ordinary" PLC?

A softPLC is basically a software package which emulates the functionality of a standard PLC inside a PC. So instead of buying a PLC you have to buy a number of I/O-modules and connect them to a PC which runs the softPLC package.

If we ever are going to use it at my company we will buy a separate industrial PC, with no display, keyboard, mouse or harddisk, to run the software. Standard PC:s are just to unreliable.
