what's the applications of stepper motor and drivers/controllers?

Could anybody tell me about the applications of stepper motor and drivers/controllers?

Our UIM242 series stepper motor controller which features can bus networking. With an RS232-CAN converter, up to100 stepper motor controllers can be joined together, and I want to know in which fields can this type of controllers be applied?
