I would like to be able to turn on my electric heating at my cottage wirelessly in the wintertime a few hours before I arrive to warm up the cottage.

The biggest problem is I do not have an Internet connection nor am I paying for a landline. What are my options if I have any. There is a telephone line coming in off the pole, but it is not used.

 

So rather than playing 20 questions, can you say what you DO have available, beside an abandoned phone line, and what kind of budget you had in mind for this?

For example can you get a radio signal from somewhere close by where there IS an active phone line that you can share? Satellite access (meaning no big trees blocking you in)? Are you trying to do this for no cost? Monthly cost? Don't care what it costs?
