Does anyone know of a wireless modem that works well with modbus communications?

 

Please take a look at http://www.violasystems.com. They have a GPRS router with modbus capabilities.

 

If you mean a device that replaces wire only, serial (RS-xxx) Modbus in, serial modbus out, then the Phoenix Contact RAD-ISM-900-DATA-BD work well at 9600 baud throughput.
