I'd like Wonderware to Spit out DDE so I can view it with another HMI package.

anybody got any insight?

thanks.

Wonderware doesn't "Spit out" DDE. It can act as a DDE server. You can access WW tag data in Excel as follows (assume a sample tag name of TT_123):

=View|Tagname!'TT_123'

Good luck,

May be Wonderware should really 'spit out' their DDE server (sell separately from their HMI),

may this be consideration for WW dde server owner

If you want just the IOServer from Wonderware, you need to purchase the lowest tag count InTouch system with IO. The IOServer was sold seperate, but was the same price as the smallest tag count InTouch with IO.

Remember if its across the network its NetDDE(and the shares for NT/2K need to be configured)

\\NodeName\Application|Topic!item

Yes.

node name = blank, or network computer name.
application name = "view"
topic name = "tagname"
item = name of tag to be accessed.

Thanks to all that replied.
Now having other issues regarding expected data length in cimplicity (cor stat log says expecting 4 recieving 8.) I'm unclear as to why their is 4 words being shipped on a 'real' tag and not 2.

Data Diplays fine in Excel.
