What is the term remote speed set point/remote auxiliary set point in woodward governor? Will anyone please tell me about this

Thank you for your attention.

I have woodward 505 manual(85017V1A). In woodward manual on page no. 24 two paragraphs are given speed control and remote speed set point. In speed control the speed set point is given in the woodward keypad but in remote speed set point it is not clear and i am confused about the word 'remote'.

I don't have that manual nor access to that manual.

But I'm very sure that if you read the fine manual you will discover that there is likely some kind of 4-20 mA input from a "remote" location/source which can be enabled/disabled and used as the speed reference in place of the speed reference which can be manually entered from the keypad.

Also, some Woodward governors have the ability to use discrete inputs (contact inputs) to raise and lower the speed reference. The inputs could be located "remotely" from the Woodward using wires.

Remote generally refers to some location other than the control panel.
