Is there a difference between these two type of cards:
DS200TCCAG1BAA and DS200TCCAG1AJB?

thanks for your answer.

The DS200TCCAG1BAA is newer than the DS200TCCAG1AJB (the G1Bxx is newer than the G1Axx) card. The last two alpha characters are production revision numbers which don't apply when considering whether one can replace the other.

While they may look similar, and they are both TCCA cards, the firmware on the two cards may be very different. And, the operator interface being used to configure the TCCA likely will not have the proper card configuration file to configure the newer card if trying to use it to replace the older card.

If the newer card came with the proper card configuration file (TCCA_BAA.DAT, for example), you could probably install the configuration file in the PROM subdirectory/folder, and upgrade the card to a G1B in the I/O Configurator, and then make sure the channel configurations are all correct before downloading to the card.

But, you can't just install a G1B in place of a G1A and download to it and expect it to work properly.

Even if you are trying to install a G1A in place of a G1B, you would still have to "downgrade" the I/O Configuration software to a G1A (presuming the PROM subdirectory/folder has a TCCA_AJB.DAT card configuration file)--but it's much more likely the PROM subdirectory/folder will have the older I/O card configuration file as well as the newer file. (And, it's much less likely the PROM subdirectory/folder will have the newer I/O card configuration file if the panel was supplied with an older card.)

Isn't this fun?

Hope this helps! Since you didn't say what you were trying to do with the two cards, I tried to cover both bases. But, it can get confusing--even for me (and I'm working on very little sleep today!).

As I wrote, I was working on very little sleep yesterday (it's that time of year again--outage season!). And something seemed a little off, and it still seems a little off. The last two alpha characters are throwing me off.

Where did you get these part numbers? Are the last two characters reflective of the PROM revisions on the cards? Because, it sure seems like there are too many alpha characters at the end of the card part number (which includes the group number--the Gnx portion).

Anyway, sorry for confusion. But, somethings seems amiss with the part numbers as provided (too many alpha characters at the end).

Don't read too much into the last characters. That is a GE internal thing. Long story short, they do different inventory changes in their systems, and they cannot have repeat part #s so they get away with it by adding the 2 extra characters. The External customer should not see a difference, nor should they see those last 2 characters. Only focus on the difference between DS200TCCAG1B or DS200TCCAG1A.
