ABB DCS800

I previously connected to the DCS800 and completely went through the wizard successfully. Now, a few months later, I went to connect using a different USB to serial connector and now I'm getting a "no drive detected" window as well as an ".ini file not found".

I've checked my com ports multiple times and made sure they are set up the same way they were last time.

Any suggestions?

Did you check under "ports" in Windows Device Manager to see which virtual COM port the replacement USB adapter installed on? The new one is likely a different COM port.

Those adapters are notorious for compatibility issues. Try a different one.

I know nothing about ABB DCS800. But from working with many USB adaptors, I can tell you that if you used a different adaptor or a different USB port, the driver may have selected a different com port. Check your device manager to see what com port it is at.

I have no idea why you are getting the error message about an ini file.
