Grounding an Equipment Enclosure

Hi:

New member here. This may be off topic so please forgive me.

How do you ground an equipment enclosure to an available TGB in the same room? I'm stuck on the how to properly penetrate the enclosure (Type 1 enclosure). I've been searching high and low on the internet for a real life pic, but I can't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

Depends, if you just need to ground the enclosure, bolt a lug on the outside and ground directly with minimum size, code determined bare cable. If you have an internal hound bus, then lug to it and use a bushing to go through enclosure wall.

I didn't state enough info. Assume no place to lug on the outside of enclosure, and no built in ground stud from manufacturer on the inside.

I want to create a ground bus on the inside of the enclosure so I can ground the equipment inside but my ground point is the TGB on the outside. So tap from TGB and then drill hole in enclosure? This is the part I'm looking for specific details. You say bushing, exactly what bushing?

Thanks for replying.

Is this what you are dealing with?

"Type 1 [NEMA] Enclosures constructed for indoor use to provide a degree of protection to personnel against access to hazardous parts and to provide a degree of protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against ingress of solid foreign objects (falling dirt)"

if so, for can safely ground the contents and the enclosure itself...
