I have encountered a problem with losing communication between a 6180 Allen-Bradley computer and a SLC 5/04 PLC. For some reason after a two or three hour period I will lose communication. The reading that was being transmitted from the PLC to the HMI is being lost.

The only way that the problem is being solved at this point, is by restarting the 6180 computer and opening up the project (RSVIEW32) and running the project. After doing this you will be OK for another 2 to 3 hours. I am using a RS-232 programming cable. If someone has any suggestions or an answer to this problem please let me know.

I'M USING RSLINK WITH A COMMUNICATION DRIVER TYPE DH485. THE OPERATING SOFTWARE THAT WE ARE USING IS RSLOGIX 500 FOR THE PLC AND THE PC HAS WINDOWS NT 4.0. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEDD ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

I THINK, APPLICATION TIME OUT ERROR OCCURED IN YOUR PC IN RSVIEW32. YOU WILL HAVE TO RELOAD THE RSVIEW IN 6180 PC.
