We have IEC 60870-5-104 concentrators for 50 RTUs (12000 points) and we have recorded a regular bandwidth of 40 Kbps. However I don’t have any information about a single IEC - 104 RTU (15 Kbps?, 20 Kbps?, less?). Does anybody have any information about how much bandwidth a single IEC 60870-5-104 RTU can use when communicating a SCADA system (let’s say an RTU of 500 point)? I'm looking for this information for communication network design purposes.

 

Any news on this topic? really interested on how much bandwidth a single IEC60870-5-104 RTU can use when communicating a SCADA system for a single packet.
