MARK 2 Temperature Averaging
Mk2 speedtronic Temperature Averaging Module problem.

Dear sir,

This is regarding Mk2 speedtronic Temperature Averaging Module problem. Pls give me a quick response..Thanks...

During calibration of Mk2 Exhaust Temperature Averaging module, manual says first reject all the TCs. Then apply mv signal at the TX-INN+ and Tx.INN -ve terminal, read the output at TX-OUT and ACOM terminal, and note the corresponding Temp.Meter reading. Where as,when we reject all the TCs, the Temp.gauge reading full (1000degC), as the circuit is open circuited. When we put any one of the TC in Average position, the temp. meter reads little above Zero reading. In this case, how can we read temperature and mv equivalent out put, with all the TCs put in "rejected" position? Pls advice..

Secondly, the DORIC digital temp.display indicator hunts with the input terminal shorted. Even when the mv signal applied to input terminal, there is no response. How can I stop the hunting? Adjusting span-zero and stability screws did not yield the result.

Once you have rejected all the thermocouples you do not say that you connected the mv source so, if that is the case the output is going to be open circuit, When you put any T/C in average it will read ambient.

Thank you sir, for your quick response. You are very correct in your statement,sir. When we reject all the TCs, TCs are open circuit.

When we put any of the TC in AV. position, temp. meter reads the ambient . My question is after we rejected all the TCs, and then apply mv source (say 20mv), module is not giving output at the TX out. And ACOM terminal as well as temp.meter also NOT reading. I am using Mk2 calibrator and follow test procedure. I have all Mk.2 Docs.

Pls advice, where could be the problem,sir.

OK. Are you sure that the SCZA card in slot "D" of the calibrator is working? Can you read MvA/B voltage from the card? If you have a separate Mv source, forget the calibrator and connect it directly to the averaging box and see if you can get Tx to the panel.

yes sir. I checked the mv input applied to the Av.module TX +inn terminal and failed to get the out put at the TX out and ACOM terminal.Finally I tried to swap OTA STKJ card in to TX-STKJ and it worked . Then I got the volt out put as well as temp.Meter reading
equivalent to mv input as per the Manual. Thanks.

Now I would like to get an answer to my another issue of DORIC digital temp. indicator reads "0" when power is applied. But Not indicating when mv input applied to +v and -V terminal. Its power input is 115V AC. NO change of bits value when tried to tune the Zero-
span adjusting screws. Pls advice what else can be the problem?
