Major Overhaul for a Frame 5 GE Gas Turbine
In-between clearances between shroud blocks at GE gas turbine frame 5

Hi everyone,

Briefly, during carrying-out a major overhaul for a GE gas turbine frame 5, we replaced the old 1st stage & 2nd stage shroud by a new set. After installation the new set, we found the in-between clearances between some shroud blocks are wider than the other ones. After reviewing the manual, I found no information about this clearances or gaps.

So the question, is this gap or clearances will affect the turbine efficiency or maximum power or heating the casing after start-up?
