Ground Fault Protection When Do I Need It
Ground Fault protection - when is it Required?

Hi Guys,

Trying to figure out reasons for specifying Ground Fault Protection in trip units for circuits breakers.

In America the NEC clearly defines the point/situation when you need Ground Fault Protection.

I am based in Europe working on a TN-C-S earthing system and cannot see anything as clear in IEC guidelines.

Note that i do not have access to the IEC standard just going off some of the design guide by Schneider that refer to it.

Would anyone be able to explain in what scenarios Ground Fault Protection is required?
