Gas Plant Control System Upgrade

Dear Engineers/Experts!

We are intending to upgrade our current control system in our gas purification plant. In this field, gas is coming from wells. On wells, currently Modicon Quantum and Modicon Momentum PLCs are installed as RTUs.

On MTU we have Modicon Quantum working...

For the gas plant, we are using Modicon Quantum in redundant configuration as the Main Controller.

We are also using Allen Bradley SLC 500, 580 PLCs for some areas.

Then we are using Invensys Triconex for our Fire & Gas Protection.

The data from all these devices are coming over redundant Ethernet and then we are using Wonderware Intouch as HMI.

We are not very satisfied with this mixed-plate type of control system. We are trying to bring uniformity in our monitoring and control. So we are planning to move on to a good DCS system that will control the overall plant. Please let me know if this is a good intention or not?

We would like to have a DCS that can interface with our well RTUs (Modicon Quantum and Modicon Momentum) and our Triconex PLC (for our ESD Fire and Gas).

It should be having minimum downtime and should provide maximum benefits.

Please suggest your ideas about it..

I shall be thankful to you if you will provide some details in that...

Best Regards

Best choice if you want to have minimum downtime and should provide maximum benefits. Then you should consider replace the valve by ceramic-lined valves. very excellent for special application. And maybe we can do something for you.

Thank you!
