We're doing one small project. In that project we've to synchronise EB and Alternator section. We've done that also but in floating conditions we're getting some currents in both the sides. Is there is any possibility of current flows without any loads????

Alternator rating 0.5 KVA, 0.68 A, 415 V
But we're getting 0.6 A without any load sharing.

Please reply me as soon as possible.

With warm regards

Ramasamy.. Further to my 11-Jan-10 (13:04) response:

The circulating current, 0.6 A, is about 88% of rated amperes. Since there is no connected load, then it is relatively high. It suggests that one of the alternator's has a a higher excitation-current than the other.

The attendant power-factor should be low indicating that the circulating-current is predominately reactive!
