MOV Serial Link
Continuous process industries, DCS questions. topic
Posted by Instrument Engineer on 9 June, 2009 - 2:39 am
The following are the common problems we are facing in the existing MOV serial link network:

1. Random changeover of Communication bus due to no reply time out error from the Local control Stations (UEC) controller.

2. Total failure of communication as a result no data update to DCS to run the product transfer logics.

3. Intermittent failure of the communication Bus and the lack of process data leads to hanging of the application logic in DCS. This phenomena will leads to some Interlocks to remain active state and inhibits operation of stand-by equipments.

4. Failure of one communication link exclusively subsequent to any maintenance in the Field.

5. A3B0 error comes in DCS (Yokogawa centum CS), that clearly indicates that no reply is coming from the slave devices
