Solar System Safety Certifications

What advice could you give - We have self cert. automation equipment which is custom.

Using authorized bodies is extremely expensive.

I'm not surprised that no-one wants to touch this question with a 10 foot pole.

First up, you haven't said ANYTHING about your plant, other than its a "solar system", which could be anything from a 12V silicon panel, to a multi-megawatt steam boiler to a sun with planets going round it.

Certification engineers charge a lot of money because they take legal liability if they certify the job and it isn't done properly. And if things go badly wrong and the plant kills someone you could be looking at some seriously big fines and/or jail time.

I don't think anybody on this forum (including me) is going to tell you that "its OK to self certify" unless you're a properly qualified person. At which point you may realize quite why its so expensive.
