How do I find out which sensor failed using backpanel operator interface or HMI in speedtronics mark v? and if it is temperature sensor, what are the step to solving the problem?

Michael Asian,

What makes you believe there is a failed sensor?

Because usually, there is some kind of alarm (Process or Diagnostic) which can be used to trace a failed sensor.

There's not enough information here to be of help with providing you a procedure to help you identify a failed sensor.

It would be much more helpful--and you would get a faster and more concise response--if you told us about what makes you believe there is a failed sensor, what you've done to try to troubleshoot the problem(s), and what the results of your troubleshooting were in your original post.

We don't know if the Mark V you are working on is a TMR or a SIMPLEX panel. We don't know if the Mark V is controlling a gas turbine or a steam turbine. We don't know a lot, and so we can't be of much help.

Generally, the <BOI> (Back-up Operator Interface) is pretty useless for troubleshooting inputs and/or outputs. It's primarily just a very basic operator interface which can be used to START or STOP or RAISE or LOWER load if the primary operator interface (<I> or GE Mark V HMI) is failed or unable to communicate with the Mark V, and for limited alarm viewing and Alarm Management (Silence; Acknowledge; Reset).

You gotta help us help you by providing much more information!
