In our 11KV busbar cubicle a terminal lug is connected for cable connection and recently we had an explosion. After investigation we found that there were moisture accumulation on these terminals which could have caused the fire due to switching flash over. I would like ask if it is possible to remove this terminal lug tube insulation to prevent moisture accumulation and future explosion. I am curious how it was determined after the fact that moisture was the cause of the explosion.
