Can we install Delta V software in any PC?

You can install DeltaV on computers other than the ones purchased from Emerson.

DeltaV software does check that windows has the correct service pack, otherwise it will not install.

However, it is a good idea to install control system software for a running plant on the vendor recommended hardware/software. Some weird and troublesome problems can occur.

Agree and we are using Dell only. But in office, we have Lenevo PC and for learning I have tried but failed. Please help me for installation.

There is a document on setting up DV and all of the settings that must be changed on the install cd (I think CD 4). Also I think in BOL (Books Online).

I am not at work to find the names for you but it is "Installing on XP" or something like that and walks you through.

As has been said, Emerson will only support on a supported platform (like Dell 360). I like and hate that. On the good side, they have tested and will warrantee operation on that setup.

I have successfully gotten it working on a couple of Gateway laptops and also on a couple of VM's (VMWare). but it takes following the setup.

Yes you can, you may have a few problems getting it going correctly but once you get it running should be OK
