Note: This is the first time I am working with modbus.

I am trying to set-up a network with MVI56E module to communicate with drives and softstart.

In the set-up guide provided with the module I only find information on how to set-up it with MVI56E-XT module.

I wonder if there is a way to set-up my network without this other device.

If I can have any other information on how to set-up a modbus network it would be very appreciated because I am very overwhelmed.

Thank you.

Hello,

The MVI56E-XT is designed for the Logix-XT control platform, allowing it to operate in extreme environments, at higher operating temperatures, and has a conformal coating to protect it from harsh or caustic conditions.

Also which Prosoft module are you using? The MVI56E-MCM?? If so you can get the user manual at this link:

http://www.prosoft-technology.com/p...platform/controllogix/mvi56e_mcm_mvi56e_mcmxt

The manual is for the both the MCM and the MCMXT same concepts apply to either module.

As to setting up a Modbus Network, this is dependant on many variables and you would need to be more specific. Please feel free to contact us at Prosoft Technology. We do offer free around the clock support.
