We are having Marion crane (Shovel) Model M-111 Electric version powered by 3.3 kv supply. It is equipped with Motor Generator (MG set) set. The MG Set, following Ward Leonard system, controls DC motors for swing and hoisting.
The MG set is very old and we are facing frequent problems. We want to convert this system with SCR control DC drive system for controlling swing and hoist DC motor (armature control dc motor power 62.5 hp and 127.5 hp respectively) so that the MG set can be eliminated.
We want help in this respect. Is there any standard dc drive for crane /shovel application? If anybody is using / dealing with this system please let me know the source. And if there is any feasibility for installing in our machines in India.
