ABB has announced an update to its My Measurement Assistant+ platform, adding GenAI-powered Copilot support along with expanded diagnostics and predictive maintenance capabilities for industrial measurement devices.

The web-based platform brings together device diagnostics, service history, and maintenance workflows in one place while providing real-time, device-specific support. With multilingual Copilot integration and access via Dynamic QR Codes, the platform aims to shorten troubleshooting time and make maintenance tasks more efficient across industrial environments.

GenAI Integration for Device-Level Support

The My Measurement Assistant+ update adds the integration of ABB Genix Copilot, a GenAI-based system developed with Microsoft. The update integrates a wealth of data, including device health, service history, and diagnostics, to provide guided troubleshooting. Instead of relying on paper manuals or external support, technicians will be able to work directly with the additional support they need through a simpler conversational interface.

Copilot can identify faults, suggest corrective actions, and walk users through resolution steps based on the specific device. Additionally, My Measurement Assistant+ now supports multiple languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Chinese, which makes it easier to use across different regions and teams.

Access Through Dynamic QR Codes and Device Data

Access to the system is handled through device-specific Dynamic QR Codes. Scanning the QR code on ABB equipment takes users directly to a web interface that provides current device health, diagnostics, and maintenance history. This approach eliminates the need for local software installations or manual data entry, providing instant access to on-site documentation.

The platform also supports automatic identification features, such as nameplate scanning and error code recognition, which help reduce the time required to locate documentation or troubleshoot issues, particularly for legacy devices.

Predictive Maintenance

The platform also connects with ABB’s Genix Datalyzer, extending its use beyond individual devices to fleet-level monitoring and predictive maintenance. For specific applications such as in emissions monitoring, it can work with live data to provide recommendations based on current conditions, rather than just flagging faults after they occur.

The updated system also includes a cybersecurity dashboard that shows how devices and data are being protected, which is becoming more relevant as industrial systems continue to add connectivity.

Maintenance Workflow and Service Support

Beyond diagnostics, the platform can also cover a variety of day-to-day maintenance tasks, such as managing spare parts, accessing documentation, and initiating service support. Users can pull up full parts libraries for a specific device, get recommendations based on current issues or diagnostics, and move directly to ordering without switching systems.

ABB's My Measurement Assistant+ will also include access to manuals, service records, and guided checklists. This feature provides on-the-fly information, significantly reducing the time technicians spend searching for data during critical repairs. For complex issues, the platform facilitates remote assistance sessions, enabling technicians to connect with ABB experts in real time and helping reduce downtime and keep systems running.

Enhancing Industrial Device Maintenance

ABB's My Measurement Assistant+ brings together device diagnostics, AI-assisted troubleshooting, and predictive maintenance in a single web-based platform. By combining Copilot integration with QR-based access, ABB gives technicians a way to quickly pull up device-specific information, run diagnostics, and resolve issues without relying on separate tools or manual processes. With added support for fleet-level insights through Genix Datalyzer, the new software can also extend beyond individual devices to help identify trends and potential issues across multiple industrial assets.
