In our gaz plant, we have two gas turbines Frame 5002 A and B, compressors drive.

When we start turbine A, the clutch release at 40% of HP speed and the turbine accelerate with difficulty (hardly).

If any body has similar problem can help us.

we notice also that with Gas turbine B, the clutch release at 64% of HP speed.

Are the units electric start or diesel start?
Did this problem just start or has it been building?
Has the unit been recently worked on?

Before MI, when we start turbine, at 64%, the clutch disengaged. after MI when we tried to start the turbine, the clutch desangaged at 40 % and the turbine take a lot of time in acceleration.

control systeme is MARK II.

it is independent of control system, and i think you have gas expanding starting turbine... check the limit switch 33CS, as soon 14HA is attained hydraulic pressure is released in 20CS but the starting turbine is stopped by 33CS intervention off.

other cause could be that the fisher regulator of the starting turbine is not fully open (check the solenoid)
