Current Transformer Body to HV Bus Connecting Link

I have found a wire connected between the Bus bar (round which CT is placed) and the CT itself. I think this wire is connected from Core of CT but not sure whether it is from core or from Body of the CT.

We have 11 kV bus sections and feeders with CTs of different sizes and different make. Some of them has this connecting wire and some doesn't.
I would like to know its importance and what happens if I remove this link.

Does it have any relation with reducing the insulation level?
