Hello,

I'm new to AB systems. Have some knowledge in Siemens Systems. Which are the AB PLCs that can be replace SIEMENS PLC systems?

Siemens PLC Families are listing below.
1. LOGO!
2. S7-200
3. S7-300
4. S7-400
5. S7-1500

Anyone can help me please?.....

AB has PLCs that can functionally do everything that Siemens PLCs can.

The most current product lines are:

ControlLogix
CompactLogix
Micrologix 1100/1400
Micrologix 800

They all have their niche.

The real key is to understand that it is mostly not about hardware and software. It is about the investment companies have in the training and experience of their people, the investment they have in existing equipment including spare parts, and relationships with suppliers that provide them PLC related products and services.The hardware and software is the easy part.

1. LOGO! ----> Micro800
2. S7-200 ---> Micrologix 1200/1500
3. S7-300 ---> Compactlogix
4. S7-400 ---> Controllogix
5. S7-1500 --> Compactlogix

I would not be using the S7-200 anymore. it is pretty much obsolete as are the Micrologix1200/1500 units. In any case the Micrologix 1100/1400 units are more cost effective and more functional. The only reason I would choose to use a Micrologix 1500 is if I were trapped into using Devicenet, as it has a Devicenet scanner available and is the only Micrologix unit that you can add Devicenet to.

Siemens PLC Families are listing below.

1. LOGO!......AB has a "smart relay". No idea what it's called. Never used one.

2. S7-200.....Micrologix 1000-1500 (I think they discontinued the 1000)

3. S7-300.....CompactLogix or ControlLogix depending on size and complexity of project

4. S7-400.....ControlLogix

5. S7-1500....No equivalent. ControlLogix is the closest and would be used for many of the same projects, but isn't really fully competitive with the S7-1500 line.

And just for completeness, S7-1200 -> CompactLogix, roughly
