PLC Module Load Consumption
Calculating I/O Module Power Consumption

Hi Everyone,

I would like to ask for your advice in calculating the load consumption of the following Allen Bradley I/O Module:

1769-OB32
1769-OW16
1769-OF8V
1769-IQ16

Is it better to add the load attached to the input and output module? In my case I'm using 9mA solid state relay (300 in total).

Hoping you can show me the right way to calculate Load consumption of the I/O Modules.

Thank you very much for all your help.

The only specification that you can find on those modules would be the maximum load they can safely handle; the load draws power from the outputs per its own specifications. If the current drawn excedes that maximum, then a booster relay is mandatory. In case of the analog autputs module, you'll need a booster amplifier instead. The specifications for those modules are readily available from Rockwell Automation Literature Library. You can find them too with a simple google search. For calculation purposes, this is all you will need plus the loads specifications. It may be as simple as adding them up both individually and on a per module basis.
