Prior to joining Flexlife in 2017, David was an independent consultant engineer acting as the subsea flexible pipe SME for several small to medium independent E&P companies for greenfield projects in the Gulf of Mexico, and brownfield developments on the UKCS and West Africa. David has worked in the offshore oil and gas industry for 25 years, starting with FPSO structural design and analysis before working for one of the big three unbonded flexible pipe manufacturers. His experience includes working for one of the major subsea installation and construction companies and an oil major and hence he has a broad understanding of the industry while having detailed knowledge of the design, manufacture, installation and operation of subsea flexible pipelines. David holds an Honours Degree in Marine Technology from Newcastle University, is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
