Modular Engineering in Panel Building: Fit for Industry 4.0

In the electrical design phase of control panel building projects, conventional engineering reaches its limits when it comes to reusability, speed, change management and data (usability).
Modular engineering can be an effective lever here. With the help of a centrally maintained function library, electrical planners can create circuit diagrams that are based on defined standards and can be easily reused, are produced more quickly, allow error-free and efficient change management and ensure (data) usability.
Taking the concept a step further, the possibility exists to fully automate the creation of circuit diagrams. Support for the modular engineering approach will also be provided by Siemens in the future in the form of prepared engineering modules for direct use.
