GE F6B Gas Turbine - IBH Control Valve repeatedly failing and gouging ball
I've been retired for 5 years. I use to work on Frame 5's & Frame 7's. This is a MS6000 machine with a Non Standard Control System on it. That is still a minute point about a Valve unless that Controller is set up for very narrow PB or Scan Differential. Dithering the Valve. Did the Contractor...

GE Steam Turbine manual Trip Buttons
We had a MK3 System GE and converted the Controls to a 3rd Party Foxboro Turbine Controls. There are a Couple Scenarios here not being brought up. The 2 button is a parallel buttons opening up a circuit that goes to a 24 VDC Trip Coil in the EHC System and the Buttons are monitored on a First...

2 DVC6200 on 585c Fisher
1st. I'm with Dave, Friday the 13th disaster story. DCV's were put in to service to monitor control Valve performance with lots of data but No backup. (Old Positioners had a Pilot Bypass) They can show you Travel, Stroke, Last Bench set and some more. In the Power industry when I started in 1985...

Axial and Radial Accelerometer bently nevada
You need to Call Bently Nevada. We have connected Metrix Transducers to a Bently Rack and it does take a Special card in the 3500 rack. Ours was on a Frame 7EA GE Gas Turbine.

SRV is Hunting During Startup ONLY - Frame 9E
WTF he has a Mark 4 plus it sounds like to me. We had one. It is 1990 vintage Controls with a B/W monitor. SRV does swing a little with that P2 pressure. The real question I have is he hitting FSRT on startup and it is swinging by gaining speed as the PCD increases. If memory serves me correct...

Vibration Monitoring
I'm going to go with WTF's Response. I had a Bently Nevada Sesmic probe on a Cooling Tower Fan that the Harmonics, Frequency could not be filtered out to be able to use all of the System. Wound up monitoring only the end Fans of the Tower. I believe that was a Bently 1900/65 system... Next one...

Turbine Drains
Are the HP drains going to Waste and Maybe the LP Drains are being recovered. Tank has Pressure limits. Also the LP Steam could be Recovered. PID"s would have to be seen.

Pressure to vacuum range
Sam gave you the Conversions. David gave you the Questions for the person who bought the device for you. Was your real question what was needed to Calibrate it.??? A Precision Pressure simulator. A Druk, Ametek, Moore Pressure Regulator in inches of water...or Similiar.. If it's a Differential...

powered by DCS side or powered by field
What Supplies Voltage to your Pressure Switches, Limit Switches, Proximity Switches, Relay Contacts, Motor Starter Contacts.??? Most DCS Systems can power those with a Card that has 24VDC on it, 48VDC on it. That is the DCS powering the contacts.(Wetting them). If you use Motor Starter 120VAC...

2oo3 versus Middle of Three Selection
I'll add this, If you have redundant logic from each Transmitter, High-High off the alarm block you can take these out of service for maintenance One at a time. Some implement a High alarm from a Good Transmitter and a High-High equals a Trip. Some implement 2 Transmitters bad = your Master goes...

Pressure and flow control at the same time
I had that same installation on a Gas Control system. The pressure controller was at the Gas Yard and the Flow Controller was 7 miles away. This was on a 10 inch pipeline. The Set point on the Gas Pressure had another purpose also, to keep the Safety valves from relieving every time the units...

Servo valve won’t control mid range
I agree with all of the above about the Servo's..Make sure the P/N's are correct. CSA, I ran in to this problem on a Steam Turbine. The Control Valve would hang up and take way more Servo current to try to pop it open. It turned out to be 2 things, First one is the Turbine Control Valve had...
