Radar level sensor
The material you mentioned is related to the housing of the transmitter. It is actually not in contact with the media, if the sensor is mounted on top of a tank or something.

Actuator exploded
Hello Biangineer, there has been no answer yet. Maybe it is already solved, maybe not. A pneumatic actuator is in most case single spring return. Are you sure that the reason was pressurized air or maybe the springs? The corrosion can be caused by "breathing" the ambient air via the silencer...

Pressure gauge needs ATEX certification ?
In addition to the previous post, a manufacturer can also have a declaration that describes the gauge as no source of ignition according to ATEX.

Send ohms via such long cables...
Hi, in my opinion the first thing to find out is the mm2 of the cable. This will limit the length of the cable. A 4..20mA signal is usually based on 24VDC. So I would prefer the 4...20mA. Also because of the wire break indication. PS: This is my first post, so please be lenient ;)
