E-stop will not reset
Yes I know, I also used it in fully integrated television tube production lines with many machines running in line with different paths throughout the factory. It is a really nice system, if you know how it works. And modbus is still my favorite fieldbus: it is so simple and you can have it up...

E-stop will not reset
yes, but for a small machine you often only have 1 safety relay, for that a safety PLC system is too expensive......

Combining RS485 with Wifi TCP/IP. Buy converter or ???
I just looked and I have 4 pieces MMTCPBCONV220 of the 220 volt power supply version (also works on 230V) on stock. Can be shipped via UPS quickly if order received before 1200hrs (our local time Rotterdam) because then the UPS guy comes for the daily pickup. Price ex. works is Euro 240,- a...

You could also use this, I used that many times. They work great and reliable (built with automotive electronics specifications) and not expensive. We can deliver them quite fast. See: https://www.proconel.com/product/mmtcpbconv-tcp-rs232rs485-ethernet-serial-converter/

One PID connected to 2 actuators
I would use a PID controller for controlling the valve and a separate PID controller for controlling the pump, because it will be almost 100% sure that the parameters of those loops will be different. Of course you can set the limitation settings for the pump inside the frequency invertor, to...

Intelligent Modbus Gateway Required
No problem, very easy to make with a Pro-face GP4201TAD touchpanel. It has a modbus RTU port that you connect to the PLC that will act as the various modbus RTU slave(s). And it has an ethernet port that you configure as a modbus TCP master that reads all field devices over the ethernet. Inside...

E-stop will not reset
It also happened to me that only 1 of the 2 safety circuits was opened en I could not re-activate the safety relay. I first had to open -both- safety circuits and only after that I was able to reset the circuit. This happened when I installed a photocell in one of the 2 circuits because the...

Choice of hardware
Are you 100% sure you want to use a PC with an unreliable OS like windows. It will hang now and then..... Another possiblity is using a Pro-face touchpanel (running windriver OS) conntected via RS-485 RTU modbus. You could use a Pro-face GP4116 touchpanel https://cascade.net/en/visualisation/...

E-stop will not reset
Emergency stops can sometimes be wired with 2 (or more) contacts within the emergency stop button. 1 (or 2 ) break contacts for the emergency stop circuit connected to the safety relay. And a separate contact for signalling to the PLC.

Multi point RTD malfunction
I personally have very bad experiences using RTDs in industrial processes and prefer the ruggedness and more immunity to cabling and noise of a well calibrated thermocouple, especially for these kinds of temperatures. Is there a specific reason why RTDs are being used and not thermocouples for...

Getting a wrong Data While reading a value from register using Modbus
Long time ago, in the past, I had during my times at Philips a serial communication card with 4 serial ports. I could set it into RAW fully transparant mode and an "interpret" mode. Of course I set it to transparant because my data bytes could be anything from 0 to 255. It happened that 2 of the...

Modbus TCP/IP to SFTP Convertor
You could take a Pro-face GP-4201TAD (or lager) touchpanel. With its ethernet port you let it communicate with the generator controller. The same ethernet port can then be used to access this GP-4201TAD touchpanel with a smartphone/tablet or windows-PC application in the operator control room...

Frequent failure of 3 phase monitoring relay
Those of Schneider were used in our Spanish factory because in that factory they were more or less "married" to Telemechanique..... In the controlpanels we moved from other factories to Spain were the Eberles, they didn't break down, but the Schneiders did: unneccesary switch a 1MW kiln off with...
