Cyber resilience act implications for Modbus RTU
Most Modbus devices doesn't have any encryption by default since its a simple DATA exchange between 2 devices. The slave doesn't know who the master is, if a hacker has access to your Modbus network, he can behave like master and gain full control of any of your Modbus slave devices. (Remember...

VSD not able to restart spinning fan???
Look for "fly catching" and make sure that is enabled. When your Motor is spinning, the drive needs to know its "homing" position. In sensor less mode, the spinning rotor will generate some EMF, which in turn will increase the DC Link during regenerative breaking enabled OR if the DBR (Dynamic...

GE Mark VIe System Controller Upgrade Plan (IS420UCSBH3A → IS420UCSBH4A)
what is the current status ? If you have their latest version of runtime, then it might be interoperable. Do check with them before proceeding. You dont need 3 USBs. good working 1 is enough. You can reinitalize the same USB again and again for the next sets.

Problem with IS220PSCA Serial Communication IOPacks - (MarkVIe)
That is impossible to happen. Strongly recommend to reach OEM for support. I think there is some built in timer which keeps polling the slave devices after they have gone bad. Is it serial or TCP ? How many slaves are there ?

MarkVIe - UCSA Designated Controller Determination State is stuck
Strongly recommend get OEM's support for faster & timely support. In the mean time, you may check for all the 9 IO NET LEDs are blinking in Controller. Most likely a loose IONET connection or a faulty network cable or switch can lead to this state. I came to know that, these controllers are no...

ToolboxST for MarkVIe
I heared in a GT user form, that You may reach out to their customer care team by email along with the correct part number for a 365 days trial license. Interesting to know that if you get License for V8, then few newer version of V7 also works with the same keys.

EX2100 tripping 41 breaker during generator start up
For Exciters dont take risks from the public forum. Will recommend to get in touch with the OEM for better support. Recently red in news paper [did not disclose the site name ] one site had a flash over damage, when they tried a test based on public form's inputs. Pictures were scarry. Sad...

Flashing LEDs not in unison in "R" processor
The IP Address is "Flashed " into the compact Flash (CF). If required, you may set it serially. Anyways, the original issue is aleady resolved by replacing the faulty CF.

Flashing LEDs not in unison in "R" processor
The CMOS battery are used only for maintaining the RTC & not the programs. Even if these battries die (Typical 4 to 5 years life from manufactured) only the clock time will change during reboots, which will get auto corrected by NTP (Provided its working good)

Flashing LEDs not in unison in "R" processor
Is it Mark VI or Mark VIe -Migrated ? Which Processor you are using ? If its vintage Mark VI, then check the compact flash health. Most likely either its corrupted or damaged. NOTE: Getting the vintage Compact Flash (in MBs) is almost impossible in market.

ToolboxST for MarkVIe
I think due to protected software license even if you have VDI files, it will not work. You need to buy the license. Alternatively, if you have VM, download the ControlST packate from the OEM's customer portal and install it. Few customers in one of the user confrence told me that they got a...

a trip with EGD and SDI protocols
I have been told that GE is moving towards encrypted communication, if I remember correctly it was sounding something similar to SecureComms. " I still don’t know how the OPC da works and how it convert EGD to OPC and vice versa..etc. " Controller ----SDI---> WorkstationST --->OPC DA /AE/ UA...
