ABB ACS 800 can withstand how much air pressure?
One suspects the answer has to be no; however generally electronic equipment and surrounding metal work might handle considerable pressure although batteries might give the first limitation. A moving coil meter might handle pressure but lcd display and membrane keyboard highly unlikely. As for...

I/O and Instrument List Development
Historically Excel has been your hinge-pin that most useful data wrapped around. Not used Plant 3D or revit, but there was never anything other than the flexibility of Excel. To a hardware designer, an I/O list should have links to drawing No's and BOM's (bill of materials), to a software...

Measuring CT Saturation
To me Mehboob has mixed up ratio for power rating. As with MWO I have had 1amp meters giving in supply max of 800A. But also seen 5A meters which would give a theoretical max of 4,000A. Guessing Mehboob would notice by the size of terminals ! Or is it 100ma meter for a 80A scenario. Assuming...

Jenbacher j420 B121 ''Hardware Misfire'' Problem
https://www.nes-wes.com/pdf/jenbacher-type-4-wes.pdf Since this is a gas engine - any fault would suggest time for a service; and if you have a service agreement, maybe the possibility of remote diagnostics. How about checking for a service agreement and service manual.

Need Help with Space Vector PWM
The MOSFET's are working in 'symmetry' so the 2nd scope shot is what I would expect too. I assume non of the resistors are faulty (RS4/5) or open circuit to cause drifting rather than overcurrent control; the only other thing to check is gate voltage with multimeter on DC (average or RMS) - each...

Need Help with Space Vector PWM
Quite mystified at what you are doing ... Mention of 3 phase and most of us are in the 400vAC range ! Forget the software because it appears to be providing results plus I couldn't help you anyway. There is mention of MOSFET's but working at such low voltage, plus they are driving into...

How to link actual position and actual velocity from NC axis to PLC
It's not clear what you have or what you are doing. EL5001 is a single channel encoder interface - so do you have an encoder physically connected to it ? If so is your point a connection between the EL5001 and PLC - if so what IP addressng is being used.

Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Requirement for R&D Nuclear Reactor
Information on any part of the Nuclear industry is by it's very nature secure; if you are working in it you would realise that. In my day there was no SIS, just the equivalent under a different name. Process Engineers would advise whether SIL analysis is required or not; however I would expect...

What Tools do you NEED as a controls engineer?
Interesting - 2 engineers accounts from different eras - we could go on: Junior Hacksaw for re-terminating armoured cables Spare laptop lead to wire to terminals to power off the control transformer Not bungi but a small selection of rubber bands - to hold panel doors open or closed, or to wrap...

What Tools do you NEED as a controls engineer?
It depends what you are doing... Hands on - it would be a variety of spanners, screwdrivers, small hammer and multimeter. Doing Software it would expensive desktop / laptop (both) and a variety of expensive software packages. For the occasional bit of hardware it was easier to discreetly use...

How do we change the power of an electric generator without changing the frequency?
Mentioned 'part of AC theory' above ...... In the days when Colleges were Colleges, described basic AC theory. The practical side was synchronising to grid and loading the generator with a water cooled brake. In hindsight excellent experience. These up-to-date links may help...

interview question.
David_2 is so right ... But Fieldbus and it's associated protocols such as Profibus is very much alive in Europe mainly due to Siemens. Another view is the Nuclear Industry - always looking for the Kiss principle (keep it simple stupid), so Analogue signals appear far more reliable when it's...

Micrologix 1400 Thermocouple Input Module not detected
One would have thought download would continue without the Thermocouple input card and come up with resetable error thereafter. Have you tried the combination, download with card in place then take the card out once system configured. Unsuccessful configuration on RSlogix500 will not energise...

Allen-Bradley 5069 Analog I/O Modules
I wouldn't worry too much about the 3-wire concept. 1. It's easier to think of design with (using) 2 wires 2. There can, and has been confusion between 3-wire and 4-wire; If you have a Siemens system they generally refer to 2-wire and 4-wire - your own desription above actually has 4 wires -...

Devicenet 3Sec Node Drop Issue With New Master
There are situations where you appear to provide too much information - but clearly made every effort to provide full details. Also I had to google legacy kit just to remind myself what DeviceNet was about. From the above, you appear to have self-diagnosed earthing fault. This obviously needs...

MQTT using Keyence PLC
https://www.keyence.com/products/controls/plc-building-block-type/kv-8000/ https://www.keyence.com/Images/series_kv-8000_keyvisual_1968539.jpg My best guess is that multiple units would connect via a server, unless you have what appears to be a 4 channel module. MQTT is new to some of us as well !
