Capacitor Bank VArplus2

Hello

I came across a capacitor bank 50 kVAr.

I noticed that 3 capacitors are connected in series using copper busbar for each phase. Each set of 3 series cap is connected to each phase (RYB old code)
But each of the capacitor has only 1 bolt connection unlike other capaciors have 2 and the bank is not delta or star connected.

Can some one please explain this capacior type and connection. Its a 50 KVAr Dry capaciors Model VARPLUS2 (Schneider).

Thanks and Regards.

Welcome to Control.Com!
What is your concern? Do you doubt it being Delta or Wye connected, or its capacity is 50 kVAr, then check it with a V, A, R, L, C, hand-held circuit-parameter tester!

Hello PhilCorso

No, the capaciot bank is 50 KVAr. It has 4 Nos. Capacitors each (12 kVAr) connected in series using copper busbar for each phase.

The above photo is for1 phase and similarly 2 additional for 2nd and 3rd phase.
Each set capacitor has only terminal connection. The 3 terminals are connected with copper busbar and then 1 terminal is connected to its phase. Hence, there 3 independent capacitor connected to each phase.
But when capacitance is measured between phase, it reads 450 micro farad (R-Y, R-B, Y-B).

I'm not understanding the construction and working principle.
