National Instrument Labview system

We are considering various options for a data acquisition/control system for an new process plant. Does anyone out there have any experience using this system in a (electrically) noisy environment for process control? The environment is not severe except for electrial noise.

Labview is software, not hardware. Your hardware is what is going to be exposed to electrical noise. Any electrical noise problems will be present regardless of what software you use.

Labview is extensively used to control custom test equipment in production plants as well as in labs. If this software does what you need, you should have no reason to be concerned about it from an enviromental perspective. It is however more commonly used to create test systems than process control systems. The feature set is oriented towards test systems wheras there is other software (including some from NI) which provides features specifically intended for process control applications.

If you are concerned about electrical noise, then detailed examination of your signal routing and signal conditioning should be used to deal with that.
