Dear all,

we have an issue with our OPC server which is connected to siemens teleperm xp dcs...

Our principal buyer wanted to our OPC server directly to their network. so that they can monitor all the data. Actually they want to monitor only 48 signals which are useful for monthly invoice purpose.

But our existing opc server having 1000 + signals. so they can monitor all the data which they don't require also.

so our target is we want to install another opc client which can pull data (only 48 signals)to this client from OPC Server. so we will give connection to our prinipal buyer to opc client only. so they can see only 48 signal data only.

so my request is how to install opc client and

and how to configure those 48 signals...

what is the compatible opc client for siemens opc server which connected to siemens teleperm xp.
Please help me....

regards

You should be able to connect any OPC server to simaticnet and get data from it. The question is how much to you want to spend on the client. for only 48 pieces of data you may be best off purchasing a tool kit for developing you own client application which you can then provide to your customer. You can get some very useful tools from companies like Kepware Technoliges amd Software Toolbox. Kepwares toolkit is ClientAce. Software Toolbox has serveral ActiveX Controls which can be used to connect to the server and display the data.

Hi Nivasnet,

What invoicing system is the data going to? Some OPC clients would be able to directly input the required data. That way, you could control what data you're sending to them. Otherwise, you could potentially give them access to a locked down OPC Gateway, such as MatrikonOPC's Security Gateway:

http://www.matrikonopc.com/products/opc-security/opc-security-gateway.aspx, that would only expose the 48 signals required.

If you're just looking to provide them a basic Excel report that gets the data directly from your OPC Server, you may want to consider Matrikon's OPC2XL:
