Does anyone know if is possible use a usb-arcnet coax (contemporary control usb22) to connect a notebook with TCI to a mark V?

Hi Luca C.,

i will try (in one of the upcoming weeks) to connect to mark-V(LM) via a usb-Arcnet-device in order to set up an opc-connection with Matrikon's OPC-Server. If it helps you, I can give you some information afterwards. But i guess it should work...

Best regards,
Marco

Hello Everybody,

I'm very sorry for my late reply. What I can tell you guys so far is, that I've successfully set up an opc-connection to MKV-LM with a WinXP-Notebook. I am currently using the opc-data-logger and opc-data-viewer from LH-controls to log engine data and being able to examine some issues with turbine's DLE/Tflame control. I've never had such a deep insight to the engine's process before, as the connection runs with scan time of 0.1 - 0.2 s and the handling (signal selection etc.) is very easy. The next thing we try to do is to clone one of our HMIs by using acronis-harddrive-image-software and connect a spare win-NT-PC (which has no stagelink-PCI-card) with the arcnet-usb-driver. If this works, then it should work with a NB as well. But the better solution from my point of view would be to get it running with a virtual Win-NT system on a WinXP-Notebook, as this would make us independant from obsolete PC-hardware. But I guess the usb support of virtual systems still is problem...

As soon as I have news to tell I'll give you the information!

By the way, does one of you guys have experience with LM2500+DLE engines?

Best Regards,
marco
